In a move that’s sure to please the masses of Donkey Kong Country fans, Nintendo announced at E3 that none other than David Wise will be helping compose the music for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. David was the composer for Rare’s original DKC trilogy and it’s his compositions for that trilogy that made him a household name amongst gamers. His most notorious songs, Aquatic Ambience and Stickerbrush Symphony, still continue to get garner praise to this very day, some two decades after their initial release.

From the demoed stages I played at E3 (you can read my impressions here), the music is as good as you’d expect it to be and even sounded orchestrated this time around. Does that mean we should expect an orchestrated version of Aquatic Ambience? I shutter with excitement at the very thought of it!
